The 2018 mission trip

This year the team of five stayed at Omoribe in the team house without running water, cell phone service or internet. We experienced daily life at the orphanage, from washing clothes early in the morning to worship and devotionals in the evening.

The team was able to get to know the children of the orphanage better this year as the students were on break from school.  We painted fingernails, played with Play-Doh, colored, played games and ran around the Omoribe grounds on the beautiful summer nights. Besides just having fun, these activities allowed the team ample opportunities to practice English with the children.

The men on the team helped with the construction of a new stove for preparing meals. This stove, if working properly will allow the pots to warm faster, use less firewood and remove the smoke from the kitchen.

The team tested all of the teachers, students and some community members for the need for reading glasses.  We were able to provide 40-50 pairs of reading glasses.
